About
The word soma means “body” in Greek, foreshadowing our intent to incorporate students into the church body. We believe the message of Jesus Christ is most effectively extended to our campus, community, and world through the local church.
Pullman is a unique place, due to the fact that 65% of the population attends Washington State University. In this transient community, the local church has a never-ending flux of people, many of which remain in Pullman for only a few short years.
Knowing that most students will leave upon the completion of their studies, it is the intent of Soma to cultivate students into men and women that will bring glory to God wherever they may go.
Our mission statement is simple: “Connecting college students to the local church body while extending the message of Jesus Christ to believers and those seeking truth.” Soma is not an exclusive club for Christians; anyone not yet familiar with Jesus is invited to come explore who Jesus is and why Christians come together in His name.
