Soma Leadership

SOMA leadership is not a hierarchy. We are a team of equals whose sole objective is to promote Christ by being missionaly minded and counter cultural in our kingdom oriented lifestyle. Among equals there will leaders, this does not imply higher authority or negate our egalitarian outlook, but rather takes into consideration that there are some who are gifted with the ability to provide direction and action while others help in equal ( at many times more important) and separate way.

 

Core Leaders

Core leaders have the responsibility to be talking, praying and serving with Caesar and to communicate what’s going on to the rest of the team.  Note that the overall leader’s goal should be to bring the team together in unity under Christ. 

 

The main responsibility for SOMA central leadership is to come under Caesars authority and guidance. In that, as responsibility is delegated to us, we have the ability and obligation to prayerfully seek out vision regarding the best way to fulfill our mandate to have as many people meet Jesus as possible on campus. For the Core leaders this consists of providing the big ideas of the ministry and where it needs to go. That is not to say others are not welcome to propose ideas but it will be the preoccupation of the central leadership to be serving in this large scale way a majority of the time.

 

Another responsibility of the core leaders will be to oversee the whole organization within by helping the leaders lead. In this way, it will be the preoccupation of the core leaders to be making sure that our leaders are not tapping themselves out spiritually or neglecting their own needs for community and accountability so that we may be transparent and open in our practices.

 

In essence, there function will be to ensure that our goals and ambitions are both Christ centered and scriptural while not allowing these goals to be hindered by sin and complacency. Also, to provide a degree of projection in terms of the future of what God has entrusted us.

 

Community Leaders

Community leaders have the responsibility to seek people out and bring them into fellowship.  This includes greeting people at church, SOMA, and on campus.

 

Community Leaders have the responsibly to create time during the week in order to build each other up, present the gospel, and bring people together to worship God.

 

It will be the responsibility of community group leaders to first and foremost model what it means to live as a disciple of Christ in community. This means that they must lead the way for openness and living in the light. It also means that they must lead the way in evangelism by living in light of the cross. They must be our BEST men and women.

 

There secondary responsibility will be to lead their respective groups. This will be explained in detail so its not important to lay it out in the responsibility section.

 

Worship Leader and Team

The worship leader has the responsibility to organize and lead worship.

 

Administration Team

 Technical Administrator and Team

The Technical Administrator has the responsibility to work with WSU in-order to set up a meeting place on campus.

 

The Technical Administrator also has the responsibility to set up equipment in the place of meeting.  This includes chairs, sound equipment, tables, and etc.

 

 Worship Organizer and Team

The Worship Organizer has the responsibility to prepare slides for the meeting.

 

The Worship Organizer also has the responsibility to communicate with the worship leader, the community leaders, and the overall leaders in order to get to appropriate material to put on slides.

  

 Event Coordinator and Team

The Activity Leaders have the responsibility to organize specific events for all SOMA meetings.

 

Activity Leaders also have the responsibility to be in contact with the overall leaders, communicating the nature of the events.

 

 

 

   Web Master

 The Web Master has the responsibility to maintain the web site and Facebook page for SOMA

 

Marketing Administrator and Team

The advertising leader has the responsibility to communicate to the public. It will be there responsibility to represent SOMA by providing an advertising face on campus.

             

The advertising leader also has the responsibility to communicate with WSU about how we can advertise.

           

Human Resources Administrator and team

This individual will have the obligation to effectively network existing and incoming college students in SOMA.
