Oh the sweet simplicity…

The following scriptures are just a few of those mentioned last night at Soma. May your week be filled with the remembrance of Christ and the power of the gospel…

Romans 8:37-38

No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

I Peter 5:7

cast all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.

Psalm 56:3

When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.

One Response to “Oh the sweet simplicity…”

  1. Romans 8:15

    For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!”

    I love this because scripture is telling us that walking in the Spirit gives us confidence in faith to not fear man and worldly things – but to cry out to and trust God. Confidence is good when not rooted in pride. We can we trust that no matter what happens with grades, relationships, job, future or any other worry that as long as our focus is on Jesus and living by the Spirit we need not fear what man or this world might do or see us as. We can join with the writer of Hebrews:

    So we can confidently say,

    “The Lord is my helper;
    I will not fear;
    what can man do to me?” Hebrews 13:6
